I went with purple and blues for this layout to bring out her bright blue eyes and purple collar that are in the photo. Hello everyone today I have another 12 x 12 layout to share. I wanted the layout to be clean and simple so I only used one photo and created a banner at the top. After I had the photo and the banner done I added a few splatter marks around the photo and added a few mini crystal gemstones. See the “splatter marks?” If you are like me and want more control of the splatters, especially when your photos are already adhered, try this: take a Re-Inker and lightly touch it to your cardstock. For a little splatter lightly squeeze the Re-Inker before touching it to the cardstock and for a bigger splatter squeeze the Re-Inker a little harder.

Hello everyone! Today I have a mini photo book of Lexis to share! I finally got all the photos edited and ready. The photo above and the first photo below is what the outside of the mini photo book looks like. I wanted the front to be clean and simple so I just added some patterned paper, stitched and distressed around the edges.All the patterned paper is from Making Memories Paper Reverie Collection. I decorated some of the pages with Making Memories embellishments, SRM Stickers, mini tags, Die Cuts With A View black cardstock sticker letters, burlap, and a few metal dog bone paper clips. Christmas Greetings & Pumpkin Spice DT Call

Hello everyone! Today I have two Christmas cards to share. Both of them use the same Snowman stamp and layout but I made them slightly different by using a different color combo, border punches, and sentiment stamps. I made these two cards for Pumpkin Spice's DT Call. The challenge is any theme, any color, and any thing that makes you smile. Hello everyone! I'm back with two more Halloween cards. I can't believe Halloween is only six days away, Thanksgiving will be here before you know it. Hello everyone! Today I have two cards to share using some of my favorite pattered papers from Studio Calico's Countryside Collection, its called Wildflower. I really liked the way the first card came out, I was trying to do something a little different with the patterned paper. I wanted to add a small strip to the top of the card to cover up some of the white. I thought it would be cute to paper piece the little birds wing with some of the patterned paper as well.

Nothing's Sweeter Than...

Today I have this cute little baby card to share. I just love this sentiment stamp from Imaginations ( I think I bought this stamp from Michaels). I wanted to try something a little different with the background so I punched a few circles out of different patterned papers. After I had my circles punched I distressed them a little, stitched around the edges with black thread and then added them to the front of the card. After I had my circles placed on the card front I stamped my sentiment onto white cardstock, matted it with black cardstock and added the little baby to the left side of the sentiment.

Since the theme of the Blog Hop is Our Favorite Things I decided to share a new card and two old mini cards I made with two of my favorite patterned paper collections from Close To My Heart. I just love the colors and the fun patterns. The card above is the new card I made for the Hop, I just love the way this layout turned out and the stitching came out perfectly. For those of you that are new to my blog I always add some kind of stitching to all of my cards, I think it adds a nice touch. The two mini cards below I made using some of the same patterned paper in January 2010.

Glossy Butterfly

Hello everyone! Today I have another Congratulations card to share. You can check out the details for Paper Crafts Gallery Idol 2011 Open Auditions HERE. I really think this card turned out pretty nice for being so simple. For the butterfly I started by stamping the butterfly in some Jet Black Staz-On ink, then I colored the wings with a light teal and added a darker teal to the middle of the wings. After I had the butterfly colored I added some Crystal Ranger Stickles to the center of the wings and to the outer edges. After the Stickles dried I cut the butterfly out and covered it with a clear Diamond Glaze. Below is a close up so you can see the Stickles and the Diamond glaze a little better

Moxie Fab Tissue Paper Magic Challenge

Hello everyone, its been a while since my last post I'm going to try to find some more craft time and get back to posting regularly. Anyways onto today s card, I made this card for the "Tissue Paper Is Magic" Challenge over at Moxie Fab World. The challenge is to create a paper crafted project (card, scrapbook page, gift bag, tag, home decor item, ect.) that incorporates tissue paper or crepe paper in a fun way. You can check out the rest of the details HERE. I decide to create a flower with some black tissue paper for my card. I started by punching five 1 inch circles out of my black tissue paper. After I had all five circles punched I wrinkled them up then layered them and added a large white bead to the center. Its hard to see the layers in the photo above so below is a close up of the tissue paper flower. Thanks for stopping by today.

Mini Album

Hello everyone! Today I have this cute little mini album to share. Its not finished yet, I still have to add the photos and the sentiments but I thought I would go ahead and share it anyways. I created this mini album using one of Close To My Hearts Triple Play Mini Album Kits. The kit comes with three different mini albums, pink, orange, and blue.The kit come with pre-cut die cuts that are easy to pop out. You just stamp the images onto the die cuts and add them to the album, I thought the die cuts were a little to big so after I stamped my flowers, flower centers, leafs and journal brackets I cut them out. I think it turned out pretty cute considering its not finished.

Hello everyone! The weather has turned cold around here, well cold for Florence Arizona. Its about 48 degrees out right now and tonight the low will be about 36 degrees, it is starting to heat back up but the last two nights the low was about 20 degrees. I know some of you are having snow storms right about now but like I said this is cold for Florence and I'm really glad we don't get snow around here. Hello everyone today I have a Birthday card to share I made using this fabulous paper from Making Memories Paper Reverie. Love this collection. Also a day or so ago I received the Stylish Blogger Award from Andrea from Ink Paper Princess. Thanks Andrea! I'm not going to follow all the rules ( there are just to many bloggers I enjoy and I'm not sure who has already received the award) but I thought I would still go ahead and share 8 unique things about myself. Okay 8 unique things about me. Humm.... lets see.
1. I'm not a fan of seafood, olives, mushrooms, milk, coffee, really spicy food and a few other things I just can't think of them right now. I'm not that picky am I?

2. A few thing I love: frozen grapes, crispy chicken skin, sweet bbq suaces, baby back ribs, ranch dressing, gala apples, bananas ( I like them when their still green as soon as they start to get spots I can't stand the taste), hamburgers with caramelized onions.

3. I can't sleep if I'm hot and.the smallest amount of light bothers me. I like it really dark.

4. When I was younger I was bitten by a squirrel. It was swimming in our water fountain and I decided it looked cute and I wanted to pet it. To this day I still have the scar on my finger. Who knew squirrels could bite so hard.

5. My two favorite colors are purple and black.

6. I have naturally wavy hair, I hate it and straighten it everyday.

7. My crafting style is clean and simple.

8. Shopping carts hate me. No really, every time I go to the grocery store I always get the shopping cart with the wiggly wheel that makes a ton of noise.

Hello everyone! It's Tuesday which means it's time for a new challenge over at the Ladybug Crafts Ink Challenge Blog. This weeks challenge is "Anything Goes". It can be a Birthday, Thank You, Get Well, or any other type of card / project you want to create. I really had fun with the challenge and decided to step outside of my comfort zone. I usually create cards with warm dark colors, I find it hard to use really bright colors. Not this week though, I went really bright and added lots of glitter. It's a little hard to see in the photo but I also added a little Snow White Fun Flock from Stampendous to Nikki's little poodle.

Hello everyone! Today I have this pretty clean and simple card to share. For the flower I punched out five 1/2" circles and crinkled them up. After I had them all crinkled up I stacked them together and punched a hole in the middle to put my brad through, the brad holds all the pieces together. After the brad is set, lift and crinkle the the circles to make it look like a fuller flower. You can make these these flowers with patterned paper but I think they look better when you use cardstock.

Hello everyone! I'm stopping in with another quick card to share. Loved this sentiment ,I thought it would be perfect for a clean & simple layout. Those two stick pins under the ribbon I whipped up using four black glass beads and two pearl beads. Those sliver pins were not meant to be stick pins, they were supposed to be for earrings. I have a bunch of them in sliver and gold and I thought they would make perfect stick pins. All you have to do is add beads plus you don't have to worry about them being sharp at the ends. I found them at Micheal's in the jewelry department where the beads are.

Thank You Card Finshed Inside & Out

Today I have something a little different to share, a card finished inside and out. ( This is very rare for me. ) Something else fun and a little different is I used a recycled brown paper bag to stamp on. Its just a plain old brown paper bag you would get from the grocery store, you could also use one of those small brown lunch bags if you have one handy.
I started by stamping a solid red circle randomly over a large piece of the brown bag and then went over the solid red circles with another circle stamp with a star in white. Going over the red circles with the white gave it a light pink tone. After I let the colors dry I cut two panels off the larger piece I stamped and stitched them to white card stock and distressed the edges. The middle panel is stamped with Thank You and done the same way as the other two panels.
For the inside of the card I used a large piece of the brown paper bag. I stared by masking off a panel towards the top and then stamped the circles the same way I did on the front of the card. After I had the circles stamped I removed the masking tape I stamped my sentiment in the middle then stitched around the edges.

The first card I have to share is my favorite of the three. I started by stamping the snowflakes in a dark blue and the I went back and stamped over them with white. I love how the snowflakes turned out.

Just A Note - Blue-Winged Kookaburra

Hello everyone, I'm stopping in to share another stitching card, this time its a Kookaburra. Whats that you ask? A carnivorous bird that laughs. Sounds scary, scroll down for a little info and to see what a real Blue-Winged Kookaburra looks like.

Some Info:
Kookaburra's are native Australia and New Guinea. They are best known for their unmistakable call, which sounds uncannily like loud, echoing human laughter- good-natured, but rather hysterical, merriment in the case of the renowned Laughing Kookaburra and maniacal cackling in the case of the slightly smaller Blue-winged Kookaburra.
Behaviors:
Kookaburras are carnivorous. They will eat lizards, snakes, insects, mice, other small birds, and raw meat. The most social birds will accept handouts from humans and will take raw or cooked meat (even if at high temperature) from on or near open-air barbecues left unattended.
They are territorial and often live with the partly grown chicks of the previous season. They often sing as a chorus to mark their territory.
In the wild, kookaburras are known to eat the young of other birds and snakes, and insects and small reptiles and even other small birds, such as finches if they are lucky enough to catch them. In zoos, they are usually fed food for birds of prey, and dead baby chicks.

Today I have another card using this really cute patterned paper from American Crafts, love it. It's a pretty simple layout, two pieces of patterned paper, ribbon, a sentiment sticker, thread and an edge distresser. I really like how the stitching and distressed edges turned out.
